Ariane Gros

Ariane Gros (she/her) is an independent dramaturge and researcher whose work explores the intersections of performance, media, and politics, with a focus on cultural history and colonial legacies. She holds a joint PhD in Theatre and Media Studies from the University of Cologne and the University of Amsterdam, where her dissertation examined the political affordances of clowning and its colonial entanglements, supported by the competitive a.r.t.e.s. scholarship. She holds a joint Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy and Theatre Studies from the Université Paris-Sorbonne (2019) and a dual Master’s degree in International Dramaturgy from the University of Amsterdam (2021). Since 2020, she has worked as a freelance dramaturge, collaborating with artists and institutions across Europe through research-driven dramaturgy and critical dialogue.
