Join our Team

The Future Advisory Board (FAB) of Performance Studies international (PSi) seeks an additional board member.

The new member(s) will join the existing board in intensive collaborative work on developing projects, facilitating events, and securing opportunities that will further bring together graduate students, early career scholars and artists worldwide, and increase the visibility of the diversity and breadth of performance studies. Examples include conference organizing, collaborative publications and projects, and summer school coordinating. For more information on the history and work of the collective, please visit our website at: https://psi-futurists.org.

The FAB primarily communicates throughout the year using online platforms, and (travel permitting) meets in-person every year at the annual conference.

New board members will serve for three conference cycles – PSi#27 in 2021, PSi#28 in 2022, and PSi#29 in 2023 – commencing January 1, 2021.

Nominees must be:

  • Current PSi members;
  • An emerging artist, graduate student,  early career researcher, postdoc, or junior faculty member;
  • Available via digital communications for regular meetings and project updates (most times of the year, this means responding to email and other messages; however, during busy times, this could entail a Skype meeting once per week);
  • Willing to engage with collaborative and collective creative and intellectual processes;
  • Committed to diversifying and repairing performance studies and building a wide network of junior and emerging scholars and artists.

Those interested can apply by submitting a CV or portfolio, and a cover letter that details reasons for wanting to join the board, availability for upcoming conferences, and ideas for forwarding the aims and ideals of PSi and the FAB.

Self-nominations should be emailed to psifuturists@gmail.com by November 23, 2020. Shortlisted candidates may be invited for a short online interview, which would take place in the first two weeks of December. All inquiries are welcome.
