Dr Yiota Demetriou is a lecturer in Performance Studies and Digital Media, Heritage, and Innovation. Her areas of interest include curating oral histories, creative technologies and automation, gamification and experience design, audience studies, engagement, participation, and cultural policy-making; alongside political performance, contested borders, and women’s war stories. She is a multidisciplinary artist, an experience designer, social and cultural entrepreneur, a curator, an erotographomaniac, and hobbyist archivist. Yiota has shown her work at Latitude Festival, Arnolfini, The Museum of Broken Relationships, Watershed, and Performance and live Art Platform Cyprus. She is currently based in the UK, and is a resident at the Pervasive Media Studio. Demetriou is affiliated with academic institutions across the UK: Brunel University, Bristol University, Bath Spa University, and UWE. She is currently working on publishing her intimate reading experience, that responds to the reader’s body heat.
