Gladhys Elliona Syahutari is a writer, researcher, and theatre practitioner. She gained her MA in Performing Arts and Visual Arts Studies, Universitas Gadjah Mada. She had been professionally active in the Indonesian theatre and film scene as an actress, assistant director, and critic. Gladhys had presented her theatre studies research papers on conferences in University of Hawai’i at Manoa and City University of New York. In 2021, she became a part of Biennale Jogja Equator XVI and Asian Art Media Roundtable at Singapore International Festival of Arts. Her research topics are about actor’s mental health, modern activism in theatre, women’s art collective, feminine narrative, Indonesian literature, postcolonialism, and theatrical presence. Aside from academic writings, she has published various literary works such as fiction and plays, she is also translating Brazilian literature into Indonesian language.
